|Narrative:||On January 2nd, 2013, at approximately 0800 hours, bank employees were preparing to open the bank for business when they discovered a device that appeared to be explosives taped to the underside of a desk in the front entry of the bank. They immediately evacuated the bank and called 911. While this was occurring, a witness contacted a trespasser on the Estancia Golf Course acting suspiciously and observed an ATV nearby. They began to escort the suspect to the clubhouse when he turned and walked away from them. On January 1st, at approximately 2329 hours, the suspect entered the front doors to the Chase Bank which are left unlocked allowing customers access to the ATM inside. There are a second set of doors which lead into the bank which are kept locked. It was at this time the suspect attached the inert explosive device to the underside of the table and then left the bank. This incident is believed to be related to two other bank robbery/extortion cases one that occurred in Peoria on July 3rd, 2012 at the Chase Bank located at 28523 N. El Mirage Road and the second occurred in Maricopa County on December 21st, 2012 at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 39422 N. Daisy Mountain.|
